Panguaneta plywood featured prominently in two exclusive settings: the historic Palazzo dei Giureconsulti, as part of Masterly – The Dutch in Milano; in the Tortona district within Superstudio; and in the Brera Design District at Casa Tabu.
Once again, the refined creative sensibility of Carina Riezebos, Creative Director of our Dutch partner Blok Plaatmateriaal, transformed the colonnade of the iconic Palazzo dei Giureconsulti into a multisensory experience, encouraging visitors to see reality from a new perspective and inviting them to rediscover the wonder of design. The installation, entitled Unravel, immersed visitors in a world of colour, textures, and materials—prompting a fresh approach to the perception and use of space.
Within this concept, Unbox introduced a modular lounge area, entirely crafted from Panguaneta plywood PureGlue™ Tutto Pioppo. Left intentionally uncoated, the seating elements stood out for their elegant light tone, the striking lines of the plywood’s layered structure, and their remarkable lightness, encouraging visitors to adapt and reconfigure the space as needed. The versatile modules could easily be arranged as tables, seats, steps or benches. The use of poplar— sustainable material sourced locally—combined with formaldehyde-free bonding and a simple slot-together assembly, reflects the shared commitment of Panguaneta and Blok Plaatmateriaal to delivering innovative solutions that meet the highest design and quality standards.
Panguaneta plywood Tutto Pioppo was also the choice of PEFC Italy, which joined the global “Forests Are Home” campaign, aimed at promoting certified forests as vital ecosystems for biodiversity and local communities, as well as a legal and sustainable source of raw materials for the furniture sector. The project Essenze Geometriche, a collection of design objects created by architect and designer Giorgio Caporaso, embodies these principles through the use of Italian wood from PEFC-certified forests. This unique collection of four contemporary furnishing pieces celebrates the value of local supply chains and demonstrates how design can be a powerful driver in promoting the responsible use of natural resources.
Once again, Panguaneta’s presence at the Milano Design Week proved to be an extraordinary opportunity to explore new frontiers in design, offering fresh inspiration to creativity and confirming our plywood as a living, expressive material at the heart of increasingly innovative projects.
