Panguaneta and Blok Plaatmateriaal define new horizons at the Milan Design Week

Panguaneta poplar plywood took center stage at Milano Design Week 2024 with "SFUMATURE", an extraordinary installation showcased as part of Masterly - The Dutch in Milano.

A location full of history, bathed in the vibrant energy of the city: the colonnade of the Palazzo dei Giureconsulti was enriched by the unique installation conceived by designer Carina Riezebos, Creative Chief Officer of Blok Plaatmateriaal.

For this ambitious project, Riezebos selected "Tutto-Pioppo" plywood by Panguaneta, a highly versatile and sustainable material known for its exceptional dimensional stability and durability. A meticulous selection of the raw materials and the most rigorous quality control, ensure the perfect balance between stability and adaptability.

Drawing inspiration from the Gothic interiors of the Duomo, the installation featured a series of interlocking arches that blended elegance, lightness, and strength, creating an immersive sensory experience for visitors. This was made possible by the unique lightness and exceptional workability of Panguaneta plywood. The soft, pale tones of poplar plywood harmonized seamlessly with the surrounding architecture, enhancing the interplay of light and shape.

Milano Design Week was also the occasion to launch the STELLINA collection, featuring a sofa and armchair where Panguaneta plywood was elevated with a refined High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) finish. This sophisticated coating added aesthetic elegance and enhanced resistance and durability, all while maintaining the lightness and functionality of plywood. The result is a perfect balance of style and practicality, ideal for adding a refined touch to any space.

Jan Blok, CEO of Blok Plaatmateriaal: "SFUMATURE reflects our mission to inspire and celebrate the rich heritage of craftsmanship in our industry while meeting the highest professional standards. Its realization was made possible by the unparalleled qualities of Panguaneta products".
